Global Media Alliance, in collaboration with Japan Motors, celebrated Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day with the annual Corporate Run and Walk. The event, held on Saturday, September 21st, 2024, at Silver Star Towers, brought together over 200 participants from various corporate organizations in Ghana, promoting teamwork, health and fitness.
Participants raced through a mapped-out route from the Silver Star Tower to 37 Station, the El-Wak traffic light, Airport Roundabout, Airport Traffic Light and finished at the starting point.
The highly anticipated Corporate Run and Walk served as a platform for employees from different companies to engage in running, walking, networking, and enjoying a healthy and fun activity.
The event was well-organized, featuring aerobics sessions, refreshments, and entertainment to ensure a memorable experience for all participants.
At the end of the race, Bismark Kwakye was named the Fastest Visually Impaired Runner with a time of 34:48. Austin Bright from Blue Bubble Laundry was the Fastest Male Manager, clocking in at 23:40, while Susana Larry from Harmonis Africa Insurance won the Fastest Female Manager title. Kiplantanga Ezra from Dr. Ceaser Lina Tea took home the Fastest Male Runner award with a time of 15:48 and Clemetina Chelang, also from Dr. Ceaser Lina Tea, secured the Fastest Female Runner title with a time of 17:15.
In the CEO category, Jerry Parker from Ignaro Investment was named the Fastest Male CEO, with Majumin Shimiru taking the Fastest Female CEO title. Gabriel Atsu won the Fastest Over-60 Runner award. Salem Kalmoni from Japan Motors placed second in the CEO category with a time of 30:49, followed by Ernest Boateng from Global Media Alliance in third with a time of 36:40.
Kustin Bright emerged as the Fastest Male Manager with a time of 23:40 and Susana Larry from Harmonia Africa Insurance finished with a time of 41:23.
Dr. Caesar Lina Herbal company won the Fastest Corporate Team with an average time of 18:40, followed by Happy FM with 28:26, and AA Linkus Company Limited in third with 48:35.
Ernest Boateng, CEO of Global Media Alliance, shared his excitement about the event, stating, “We are thrilled to partner with Japan Motors for this event. It has been running for 14 years and is a fantastic way to promote the health and wellness of employees and companies. The Corporate Run and Walk allows employees to bond, stay active and have fun. He also highlighted their Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, saying, “GH¢10 from each registration will be donated to the Ghana Blind Union, a partnership that e.TV Ghana and Japan Motors have been supporting for the past 12 years.”
