Global Media Alliance, in partnership with the China Europe International Business School has launched the “Advanced Leadership Program in Media and Entertainment Management”- the first of its kind in Africa- to equip professionals working in all areas of the media and entertainment industries with practical skills to match new trends emerging in both industries.

The program aims at grooming these practitioners, and equipping them with strong management, leadership and relevant business tools and skills to attain excellence in their various fields of endeavors in the ever-changing world of media and business.

Professor Mathew Tsamenyi, programs Director of CEIBS noted at the launch that “We are in an ever changing competitive environment where the media organizations need to get and understand current management practice. This program seeks to develop competencies and skills of their employees and management to propel them to the next level.

Professor Tsamenyi called on companies to sponsor their employees. He said “I will urge companies to sponsor their employees because this is an investment which will yield great returns for them. The structure of the program will develop competencies in different areas and will help put these organizations ahead of their competitors.”

Mrs. Rosemond Aryeetey, Head of Corporate Communications at Global Media Alliance said “This program has been designed to fill a gaping void, as it is specifically designed to address the unique challenges media executives face in their day to day working lives, and proffer collaborative solutions that blends leadership and management principles with the realities of a super dynamic media environment.”
She added that ‘This speed of advancement, naturally, calls for media executives to upgrade their knowledge and skills to remain relevant and stay abreast or ahead of the phenomenal changes we are witnessing”.

Declaring the launch of the program, Mr. Nana Essilfie Conduah, a representative of the National Media Commission announced their endorsement and support for the Advanced Leadership Program.

The first of the 3 module program will take place from 23rd April to 25th April. The module will focus on Media Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Service Marketing. The second module, “Leading people and Organizations” will begin from August 27 and end on August 29th while the final module, “Media Management Strategy” will span from November 26 to November 28.

Edward Boateng 2On Friday; Sept 20th, Mr. Edward Boateng, Chairman of the Global Media Alliance Group became Africa’s top Business Leader when he won the much coveted Business Leader of the Year award. The event; The African Business Awards 2013 was organized by African Business Magazine in New York. Mr. Boateng could not make it to the event due to some circumstances so Mr. Charles Nimmo Ntiamoah Mensah aka Mr. CNN(CEO/Publisher, 3G Media received the award in his honor. Mr. CNN thanked the organizers for the award on behalf of Mr. Boateng. Mr. CNN is also a Senior Adviser to Global Media Alliance and also to Mr. Boateng.

9D GAMES ARCADE PIC 1Global Media Alliance has partnered Omran Ghana Limited to introduce a new dimension in gaming and entertainment in Ghana with the launch of a state-of-the-art 9D Games Arcade. The first of its kind in Ghana, the 9D games arcade, located at the Silverbird Cinemas, will offer Ghanaians especially, gamers a thrilling experience in a mini-theatre environment.

It is the most advanced digital movie technology on the market which allows customers to truly experience a movie whilst watching. Whilst viewing a movie, the new technology allows customers to experience in real-time everything that is depicted in the movie including rains drops, snow, smells, and even experiencing the loss of gravity whilst watching their movie.

Mr. Albert Adomako Mensah, Director in charge of Special Projects at Global Media Alliance shared his excitement about bringing this new and spectacular experience to their customers in Ghana. He said ‘As a leading entertainment firm operating in Ghana, we are constantly exploring new ways of bringing world-class entertainment experiences to our customers.  This games arcade is the first of its kind in Ghana that will provide a totally different gaming experience for customers. To make it accessible to a wide number of customers, we have set up two units: one at the Silverbird Cinemas, Accra Mall and the other at Functions Ghana, Weija. Accra, 27th June 2011: Media conglomerate, Global Media Alliance Ghana Limited (GMA) over the weekend swept five awards at the Radio and TV Personality Awards ceremony held at the State Banquet Hall in Accra. Four presenters from the respective business units of GMA and its Managing Director for Commercial Operations were all honoured at the awards.

etv Ghana's Gideon Aryeequaye was adjudged the Male Television Newscaster of the Year, station Manager of etv Ghana JOT Agyeman swept the Television Programmes Director of the Year. Other employees of GMA who were honoured include Y FM's Miss Naa who was adjudged the Most Promising Radio Presenter of the Year and presenter of etv's Late Night Celebrity show took home the most promising Television Presenter of the Year.

In recognition of his immense contribution to the development of media in Ghana, Global Media Alliance's Managing Director for Commercial Operation, Akwasi Agyeman was also given an honorary award.

Executive Chairman of Global Media Alliance, Edward Boateng says 'we are really proud of the individual achievement of our employees and we congratulate each one of them for their hard work and contribution to making the company great'. The four presenters expressed their gratitude to their viewers and fans for their support and encouragement.

The event which brought together people from across all walks of life was graced by former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, some state officials, media personnel and other high profile personalities. The show was interlaced with performances D Crime, from C.K. Mann, Gyedu Blay Ambuley, amongst others.

Accra, 14th January, 2011: Global Media Alliance has hosted media executives including senior journalists and reporters at the African Regent Hotel. Media Friends' is held annually by Global Media Alliance here management of the company interacts with press executives and share interesting ideas on how to promote media excellence in the country. The day is also set aside especially to thank the media for the partnership GMA continues to in carrying out its projects and services as a leading integrated media and entertainment company with momentous footprints in advisory services and events

The day provided a unique platform for editors and senior journalists to interact management of Global Media Alliance and its respective business units including Happy FM, Y FM, Anigye FM, e.tv ghana and Silverbird, Management of GMA thanked the media for their support to the company through throughout the year 2010, and asked that they continue to work together on a stronger level of relationship in the new year.

The Managers of Global Media Alliance Broadcast Company (GMABC) and Silverbird recalled some of their success stories in the past years, giving credit to the media for their support. They also shared with media executives their vision for the year and some up-coming events in the first quarter. Management said all is set to make this year's Happy FM's Mass Wedding a grand one by bringing together a record number of 40 couples.

According to the Executive Chairman, Edward Boateng, 'Global Media Alliance is committed to promoting media excellence in Africa and we will be working hand in hand with the media and other relevant stakeholders to set Ghana on top as the standard when it comes to professionalism of practice. “The media have a key role to play in Ghana and the continent's development. Therefore, we need to take ourselves seriously”, he stressed.

“I seize this opportunity to wish you well in the New Year. Let's continue to strive for excellence. We have come a long way as a growing industry, but we still have a long way to go.
